    Good Morning

    Good Morning Everyone!!

Once again it has been some time since I posted anything, but I do have a valid excuse.. I have spent the last 8 months on active duty for the Montana Air National Guard, 6 of those months have been hanging out in the "wonderful" country of Afghanistan.  I hope you could hear the sarcasm in my voice when I said "wonderful".  As I mentioned in my last post while I was sitting in Norfolk, Virginia  I was hoping  to post to my blog while I was  deployed, as you noticed that didn't quite work out as planned.  Usually, the best laid plans never work out if you are involved with the military.  The military always has their own agenda and it is never the same as what you have planned.

My career field for the Air Force is Security Forces which is just a fancy name for Law Enforcement.  Being a Security Forces member means that we work 24/7, 365 days a year and of course I drew the short straw and end up on night shift.  I hate night shift, at my age, my body thinks that anything past 9:30 pm is too late.

My home for the last 6 months - Conex boxes - Nothing says home like a shipping container.
My half of room - What you can't see is my pile of gear on the other side of  the locker.  And check out my tin foil shades!

I really struggled to sleep during the day  and stay awake for our 14 hour shift at night, but luckily towards the end of my deployment I was moved to day shift and was able to feel human again.

The only good thing about night shift is that I saw some awesome sunrises while I was in Afghanistan.

I will post some more pictures in the next few days

Have a Great Saturday - I am off to the yard sales!!

    Merry Christmas

    Merry Christmas Everyone!

I figured I had better post the remainder  of the Christmas cards that I made before I head overseas and the speed of the internet slows down to a snail pace.  I hope everyone has a full tummy from eating too much Turkey and Pecan Pie. I really like Pecan Pie, that why I mentioned it instead of Pumpkin Pie.

Right now, I am sitting in a hotel room in Virginia waiting for the military to tell me when I will be heading overseas.  Once I leave I  won't be able to post too many pictures (because of the speed of the internet) but hopefully, I will be able to introduce you to a new culture and be able to tell you about some exciting new things.

    Cabin Fever

Since I am not able to go home and I am stuck in this hotel room for the next month or so until I leave. I decided that I should start on my Christmas Cards.  Besides going shopping, surfing the net and watching movies what else is there to do? Well, I did open my son's Christmas Gift and played with it for a while. (I was trying to decided if I wanted a Kindle Fire also)  Scrapbooking in my hotel room  is like being at a mini retreat - well not really, but it sure helps fight the boredom.  Here is what I have done so far...

    It's Been Too Long...

Where has the time gone?  I can't believe that the last time that I posted, it was August.  Quite a bit has  happened since I posted last...
    • I did get my scrapbooking room mucked out and organized - of course I don't have any pictures, but I will post some next time I am home.
    • I did have my scrapbooking sale and I sold quite a bit of my excess paper and few stamp sets that I hadn't used in a while.
    • I am being deployed overseas for an extended period of time with the MT Air National Guard.
Since I am being deployed, I won't be able to post scrapbooking layouts or cards while I am gone, because I can not take my scrapbooking supplies with me. Well, I could bring my supplies with me but, there would not be enough room on the airplane for anything else.  If you have seen how much gear a solider has to bring with them for a 6 month deployment you would be shocked.  While I am gone I am going to try digital scrapbooking with Studio J.  I will attempted to post pictures during my deployment, but the wi-fi speed is very slow where I am going.  I do not know what my work schedule will be, but I will try to post often.

I hope everyone has a very joyful Holiday Season.

    Until next time...Happy Scrappin'

It's Not Hoarding, If It Is Organized!

Well, it's pretty darn close to HOARDING!!  I am finally, getting around to unpacking my scrapbooking room.  This last year has been a challenge, but it looks like the ground water is under control and no longer seeping into my basement.  My scrapbooking room has been packed away for a couple of years, and now I am trying to organize my stuff.  Below are the "before" pictures and hopefully, by the end of the month the "after" pictures will be posted.   I am waiting on cabinets to be installed but, my dad told me that it will be this winter before he can get time to get them made.  I can hardly wait!

Please post your favorite scrapbooking organizing tip for a chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate to use in the new 2012 Fall and Winter CTMH Idea Book.   You can also win by signing up to follow my blog.

My Cricut and Big Shot Table.

I had most of this stuff in a big dresser, but my daughter claimed it when she got her first apartment.  The problem with using a dresser as storage it is hard to see what you have and don't have and you end up with several packs of the same color of paper.

Back in the far corner, is my craft area.  This was my mom's old sewing table that I converted  into my personal craft space.
After spending hours and 100's of zip ties later. I finally got a paper storage area. I did discover that I have a LOT of paper, and that I need to sell some of it.  This is just the cardstock, I still have to go through all of the printed paper.  Again, this is what happens when your scrapbooking room is packed away and you end up with several paper packs of Sweet Leaf, Chocolate, Sunflower and etc...

I am hoping to have a scrapbooking yard sale later this month... I will fill you in on the details, later this month.
