Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone!

I figured I had better post the remainder  of the Christmas cards that I made before I head overseas and the speed of the internet slows down to a snail pace.  I hope everyone has a full tummy from eating too much Turkey and Pecan Pie. I really like Pecan Pie, that why I mentioned it instead of Pumpkin Pie.

Right now, I am sitting in a hotel room in Virginia waiting for the military to tell me when I will be heading overseas.  Once I leave I  won't be able to post too many pictures (because of the speed of the internet) but hopefully, I will be able to introduce you to a new culture and be able to tell you about some exciting new things.

Cabin Fever

Since I am not able to go home and I am stuck in this hotel room for the next month or so until I leave. I decided that I should start on my Christmas Cards.  Besides going shopping, surfing the net and watching movies what else is there to do? Well, I did open my son's Christmas Gift and played with it for a while. (I was trying to decided if I wanted a Kindle Fire also)  Scrapbooking in my hotel room  is like being at a mini retreat - well not really, but it sure helps fight the boredom.  Here is what I have done so far...

The Stamp Set is from Close To My Heart from the retired Believe Workshop On The Go (WOTG), Cranberry and Black cardstock, black button brads, Black Grosgrain Ribbon, Cranberry Marker, and Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel

Flakey Friends Stamp set , Cocoa and Olive cardstock from CTMH

Flakey Friends Stamp set, Olive and Cocoa cardstock from CTMH.  Unknown where the Snowman Stamp is from.

It's Been Too Long...

Where has the time gone?  I can't believe that the last time that I posted, it was August.  Quite a bit has  happened since I posted last...
  • I did get my scrapbooking room mucked out and organized - of course I don't have any pictures, but I will post some next time I am home.
  • I did have my scrapbooking sale and I sold quite a bit of my excess paper and few stamp sets that I hadn't used in a while.
  • I am being deployed overseas for an extended period of time with the MT Air National Guard.
Since I am being deployed, I won't be able to post scrapbooking layouts or cards while I am gone, because I can not take my scrapbooking supplies with me. Well, I could bring my supplies with me but, there would not be enough room on the airplane for anything else.  If you have seen how much gear a solider has to bring with them for a 6 month deployment you would be shocked.  While I am gone I am going to try digital scrapbooking with Studio J.  I will attempted to post pictures during my deployment, but the wi-fi speed is very slow where I am going.  I do not know what my work schedule will be, but I will try to post often.

I hope everyone has a very joyful Holiday Season.

Until next time...Happy Scrappin'

It's Not Hoarding, If It Is Organized!

Well, it's pretty darn close to HOARDING!!  I am finally, getting around to unpacking my scrapbooking room.  This last year has been a challenge, but it looks like the ground water is under control and no longer seeping into my basement.  My scrapbooking room has been packed away for a couple of years, and now I am trying to organize my stuff.  Below are the "before" pictures and hopefully, by the end of the month the "after" pictures will be posted.   I am waiting on cabinets to be installed but, my dad told me that it will be this winter before he can get time to get them made.  I can hardly wait!

Please post your favorite scrapbooking organizing tip for a chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate to use in the new 2012 Fall and Winter CTMH Idea Book.   You can also win by signing up to follow my blog.

My Cricut and Big Shot Table.

I had most of this stuff in a big dresser, but my daughter claimed it when she got her first apartment.  The problem with using a dresser as storage it is hard to see what you have and don't have and you end up with several packs of the same color of paper.

Back in the far corner, is my craft area.  This was my mom's old sewing table that I converted  into my personal craft space.
After spending hours and 100's of zip ties later. I finally got a paper storage area. I did discover that I have a LOT of paper, and that I need to sell some of it.  This is just the cardstock, I still have to go through all of the printed paper.  Again, this is what happens when your scrapbooking room is packed away and you end up with several paper packs of Sweet Leaf, Chocolate, Sunflower and etc...

I am hoping to have a scrapbooking yard sale later this month... I will fill you in on the details, later this month.

Today, I got a sneak peek at the new Close To My Heart  Fall & Winter 2012 Idea Book, and there is some much new stuff in this catty to be excited about.  I am especially excited for the new Cricut Cartridge, I have been waiting and waiting for a new CTMH cartridge for almost a year now.  The new cartridge is called Artiste Collection it has 700 images: which include theme projects, cards, fonts, shapes and 3-D items it also comes with 3 - My Acrylix stamp sets, and 3 dimensional elements sheet.  I was so excited about this new cartridge that I have already ordered it.  I can't wait  to show it to you.

Speaking of placing an order, I also order the new Christmas paper Pear & Partridge and a new snowman stamp called Flakey Friends.  There some new colors that have been added and the color line has been reduced from 60 to 40 colors,  I will post a list in the next couple of days of the colors that are retiring.  And the best news of all....drum roll please... all card stock can be order in bulk - this means once again we can order 24 sheets of one color!!!

All Occasion Card Class

I have fallen in LOVE with Pinterest - this is my favorite go to place to find new idea for cards and scrapbooking layouts.  I found several ideas for our latest card class.  If you did not make it to class, and want to make some cards, I have about 4 kits left.  The cost is $10.00. Please contact me and we can set up a time that will work for both of us.

Here are some of the cards you can make in the All Occasion Card Class.

This card was originally designed by Glenda Mollet - You can visit her blog here
The paper for this card is from the Stella Paper Pack and the New Arrival stamp set.

The paper for this card is from the Dotty for You paper pack and I also used the Just a Number Stamp set and the following embellishments Baker's Twine & Color Ready Garden Wooden Shapes.
I used the Card Word Puzzle stamp set to make with card, it goes perfectly with my embossing folder that I got from my friend Ginger. (If you are interested in the embossing folder, I can give you Ginger's number)

I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

PEMBERLEY - May 10/15

This month we  used the Pemberley Paper Pack - everything in your kit has been stamped and all the paper has been cut for you.  If you are missing anything please let me know.  The inspiration for this layout came from Annette Green, she has the most amazing blog with a lot of great ideas.  You can visit Annette's blog Here.   Some of the embellishments that I used on this layout are the Color Ready - Wooden Garden Shapes - I have just discovered these and LOVE them!  I also used Bouquet Assortment - these 3-D  flowers go perfectly with the Pemberley Paper Pack and of course I used the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge - this is my go to Cricut Cartridge and I really hope CTMH comes out with another amazing Cricut Cartridge this fall.  (My fingers are crossed!).
Be sure to click on the picture to enlarge it to see all of the details.

CRUISIN' APRIL 10/15 LAYOUT

This month we will be using the Cruisin' paper pack - everything in your kit has been stamped and all the paper has been cut for you.  If you are missing anything please let me know.  I used Liquid Glass to attach the bottle caps. Just run a small bead of Liquid Glass to the bottom edge of the Bottle Cap.

My  life has been crazy and I am hoping that it will be begin to slow down very soon.  The waterproofing of my basement is about 95% finished and so far the  ground water has not been seeping in.   Hopefully, I will have my scrapbooking room finished by the end of the Summer and we can start having classes at my house.

Right now, I am planning on an All Occasion Card Class on Thursday, May 31st.  Let me know if you are interested in signing up.

The 10/15 classes are coming to end for this season.  Depending on how many ladies are interested in a class for June  will dictate if we are ending in May or June  - I will keep you posted.
Happy Scrappin' and wish me luck - I am off to a military school in Texas for two weeks!!

And the Winner is.....

Congratulations  Kailee B.  you have won a paper pack of your choice from the Spring/Summer Idea Book. Let me know which paper pack you would like.

As you may have noticed, I did not get next week's layout posted.  This was because my son had a slumber party at our house on Friday Night and I was scared to leave the boys upstairs alone while I was scrapbooking.

Hopefully, this will tie you over until I get the layout posted.
